After reading the reviews I thought this would be perfect for my new rescue dog who seems to chew more than our other dog. It wasn't. The head and tail were chewed to bits in probably less than 10 minutes. My dog is a Sheltie, probably German Shepherd mix so we aren't talking mega-jaws here. I gave the extra star because it is cute but did not have the durability that I expected from Kong toys.

We have a dog that likes to shred her soft toys, so I was a little skeptical when this arrived and seemed rather flimsy. Though she has chewed a couple holes in it (after a few months' use now) and ripped out the eyes and tongue, the snake has held its shape well despite some vigorous games of "tug", and the lack of stuffing prevents "deflation" damage. The replaceable squeakers are a very nice touch... though we have only had to replace one so far. Overall, a very good toy.

Has not yet been destroyed by 2 mastiffs. They love it, no stuffing lying around the house unlike must doggie toys. Sturdy yet still fun.

My dog liked it.........too much. I did expect more from a KONG product. It has taken 2 weeks, but it is now completely gutted, inside out, with every attachment gone (that was day 1). There was stuffing in it somewhere, contrary to the description; this is all gone too. Now he's working on ripping up the fabric. Soon it will be no more.

I have two dogs, a large 50+ pound catahoula shepherd mix and a 20 lb westie. The shepherd mix is extremely hard on his toys. In fact, there are "carcasses" of dead stuffed toys all around our house. I soon as I go around picking up stuffing and toy remnants he starts tearing up another toy. It is a never ending cycle, but it makes him happy and isn't that what having a pet is about? We have had the Kong Large Snake for a month now and I am shocked and excited to say that it hasn't lost a single piece of stuffing. It is still in great condition. Both dogs play with it on a daily basis, they even play tug of war with it and it is holding up great! I am definitely going to search for more Kong stuffed toys. So far they are the only toys that really stand up to the extreme play that our shepherd mix can inflict upon it! The squeaker is still alive in it too! But we got the replacement squeakers on stand by just in case.

Hmmmm I found the commercial to alittle amusing myself, and dvr'd it. However, a few of my friends who are all into politics wondered how long the commerical would last because of situations like this. A parent should be able to come up with answers even more so in explaining that there are things and items on tv that are not real, that are for amusement purposes only and marketing ploys set up by corporations to induce a "did I just see that" aka shock and awe.
Just like the Pepsi commercial with the goldfish-I am sure this commercial because of problems will be removed shortly...
Then again from a political point of view-freedom of speech, and press are likely to be repressed for the corporations in re of liberalites demanding sensorship. Thanks.

Take some Baby powder mixed with corn meal over and tell her that it a special mix fertilizer. Put it in the dogs grave. When the dog doesn't come back tell her that you can not make everything grow back.

If YOU tell her, she would hate YOU because you were the one who told her the bad news (in other words she'll shoot the messenger).
BUT, you can buy a can of regular hairspray or something, spray it on the dog, or where it was buried, and blame Yahoo for "lying to her" and say you're disappointed too. That way, you can both be disappointed, and she wouldn't feel that sad knowing that someone feels the same way she does.

Tell her as gently as you can that the commercial was only pretend, then help her to read the story of the Rainbow Bridge. If it makes her feel better to draw her dog friend at the bridge, surrounded by all of his friends waiting to be reunited with their people, help her to do that too. Children grieve differently than adults, but it doesn't hurt any less.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
